Born and raised in West Yorkshire, England, I studied photography at Batley College of Art and Design before moving to London to assist various advertising and editorial photographers. An intense curiosity about the world prompted me to leave London in 1989 and embark on a three year trip through the United States, Mexico and Asia. After my travels I settled in New York.
From 1995 to 2011 I worked as a freelance advertising and editorial photographer in New York City. My clients included Verizon, Jaguar, Canon, Amtrak, Microsoft, The Red Cross, Disney, The Discovery Channel, Robert Wood Johnson, ESPN, Nylon, Fortune, GQ, and Paper magazine. From 2004 to 2011 my commercial work expanded to include video and still creation for licensing through Getty Images. This work continues to be licensed worldwide. Since 2011 my primary focus has been personal and fine art photography projects.
